St Mary’s of the Lake Revitalization

The revitalization of St Mary’s of the Lake, a former hospital and nunnery, will house the University’s administrative departments. Beginning with a Feasibility Study and consultation process, the selected design option moving forward will improve daily operations for students, staff and faculty within a centralized and sustainable facility.

Moving forward with the implementation the facility maximizes the best use of space with a mindful budget. It reduces the amount of space required for occupancy, efficient space planning, and includes sustainable infrastructure systems.

Creating a new consolidated administration building at the Saint Mary’s of the Lake site is an opportunity to improve each department’s daily operations as well as provide a culture building environment for associated staff. Special attention has been given to accommodating suggestions outlined in supporting reports and consultations, in order to ensure the new development meets the needs of its users, administrators, and the greater Queen’s community.
